About Mr. Landy |
Hi, my name is Tom Landy, and I am entering my fifth year as a teacher at Amador Elementary. I am very grateful and proud to be a part of such an outstanding school.
I am a Bay Area native who has lived my whole life in the East Bay, with the exception of about five years spent in Santa Cruz while in college. It was there that I met my wonderful wife Bonnie. We have been married now for more than thirty years, and have two children who are both in their mid-twenties. This will be an exciting year for our family as both Molly and Liam are engaged to be married, one in May, one in June. Bonnie and I happily welcome Scotty and Katie into our family. Prior to becoming a teacher, I spent nearly twenty-five years working as a technician and manager for a company that sold industrial electrical equipment. When the company went out of business, I decided to follow my heart and pursue a career in Education. I am so glad that I did, as I absolutely love teaching. I taught third grade for a few years, and I am very excited to be teaching fourth grade again, for a number of reasons. For one, I am looking forward to working with the fourth grade team, who I have always thought of as a positive and enthusiastic group of educators. Second, fourth grade was my favorite year of elementary school. I still fondly remember some of the projects we worked on and field trips we took that year. Finally, since I am looping with my students from last year, I am eager to continue to support this wonderful group of children and their families. |
