About Mrs. Russo-O'Carroll
Welcome to 4th grade at Amador Elementary. I am Kelly Russo-O'Carroll, also known by my students as Mrs. ROC. I love teaching 4th because we get to explore our wonderful state. I have been an Amador Owl since the school opened in 2015. I have been teaching for 20 years now with experience in all grades. I have been fortunate to be a part of Dublin Unified as a student, parent, and teacher.
I attended Saint Mary’s College and the University of Phoenix. I hold a Masters degree in Education: Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction. I was a student in the Dublin School District, attending Wells and DHS. My elementary years were spent in Oakland at Hawthorne Elementary and in the beautiful California Redwoods at Guerneville Elementary. I have four lovely daughters, two are teachers, one is in her master's for jewelry design, and the youngest is in off to college. My husband, Steve, works as a special needs teacher. We are definitely a family of educators.
We are a family who loves to travel and learn! We spend our free time outdoors taking road trips, kayaking or hiking. We enjoy going to historical sites. You might see us around at a local car show or enjoying a concert or play. We love animals and share our time with our dogs by the water or in the redwoods.
I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work with your student this year. I am looking forward to helping them grow in academics and character during my time as their teacher. I believe that every student has strengths and it is my job to help them apply those abilities to excel and improve in all subject areas. We will spend our time discovering how to bring out their individual success through their interests and styles of learning. I believe that the classroom is a community where we work to inspire, have fun, and learn together. We will take a growth mindset approach to achieve our goals through inquiry and project-based learning. We respect each other in our uniqueness as we learn and grow throughout the year.
As a family, you have an opportunity to support our literacy program from Scholastic. Thank you for helping grow our classroom library while supporting your student's reading at home. Please order online at Scholastic and use our code PC6W8. You can share great stories monthly, so look for our flyers.
We are ready for a fantastic year. I look forward to getting to you and your student. If you have any questions, please email me at russoocarrollkelly@dublinusd.org
Kind Regards,
Kelly Russo-O’Carroll
